Đây là loại cây được trồng phổ biến tại các khu vườn của nhiều gia đình, đa phần trồng với mục đích trang trí mà ít người biết tới khả năng chữa viêm chân răng sưng lợi có mủ cùng nhiều bệnh lý khác của loại cây này Đặc điểm là cách ngừa sâu răng, chống xuất huyết bảo vệ hệ tim mạch, giải độc và thanh nhiệt giúp đào thải những tác nhân gây hại nên ngoài sâu răng nó còn được dùng để chữa đau đầu, buốt thái dương do phong hàn thậm chí cả gãy xương
Theo Đông y, cây duối có vị đắng, chát, tính mát, có tác dụng thanh nhiệt, giải độc, thông huyết, cầm máu và sát khuẩn. Hầu hết các bộ phận của cây duối đều có công dụng chữa bệnh.
Tác dụng chữa sâu răng của cây duối
Cây duối (hoặc cây ruối, duối nhám) thuộc họ Dâu tằm (Moraceae), tên khoa học là Streblus asper Lour. Cây thân gỗ có thể cao tới 10m, thường mọc hoang ở nhiều nơi, toàn cây có nhựa mủ trắng, thân cành khúc khuỷu nên được trồng làm bonsai.
Lá duối cứng, hình trứng ngược, mép khía răng, mặt lá nhám, dài từ 3-7cm, rộng khoảng 3cm, mọc so le nhau. Quả mọng hình cầu hơi dẹp nhỏ cỡ đầu ngón út, khi chín màu vàng ruộm, vị ngọt mát, ăn được. Các bộ phận của cây duối có thể thu hái quanh năm, dùng tươi hoặc phơi khô, sao vàng làm thuốc trị sâu răng.
Trong Đông y, cây duối chữa bệnh lỵ, tiêu chảy, sốt, đau bụng, sâu răng, phong thấp đau nhức, ung thư, phong (hủi), giun chỉ, đắp chữa gãy xương rất hiệu quả nhờ có vị đắng hơi chát, tính mát, có tác dụng sát khuẩn, cầm máu, thông huyết, giải độc và thanh nhiệt.
Công dụng chữa bệnh của cây duối còn được Tây y công nhận. Các nhà nghiên cứu tại Đại học Khoa học Malaysia (USM) đã chế tạo thành công nước súc miệng không còn từ rễ cây duối giúp làm sạch răng nướu, ngăn ngừa sâu răng. Vỏ rễ duối chứa glycosid tăng cường hệ tim mạch, chưa sâu răng vỏ duối có vị đắng có tác dụng trợ tim.
Một số bài thuốc dân gian chữa sâu răng từ cây duối
Trị đau nhức răng do sâu răng: Vỏ cây duối 20g, thái mỏng, sắc lấy nước đăc ngậm. Hoặc vỏ duối, củ gấu 2 thứ lấy lượng bằng nhau đem ngâm rượu trong khoảng 1 – 2 tuần, sau đó dùng bông tẩm rượu đặt vào chỗ sưng, sâu sẽ nhanh chóng giảm đau.
Trị đau đầu, nhức trán, buốt thái dương do thay đổi thời tiết: Phết nhựa duối lên 2 miếng giấy trắng đường kính 3cm, cho lên lớp nhựa duối một chút vôi tôi cỡ hạt đỗ xanh rồi trộn đều vôi với nhựa duối.
Dán 2 miếng giấy đó vào thái dương như dán lá cao, dán 1 miếng giấy tương tự đường kính 1cm vào ấn đường (điểm giữa hai lông mày). Kiên trì thực hiện 1 – 2 lần trong ngày, tác dụng của cây duối sẽ giúp chứng đau buốt đầu nhanh chóng thuyên giảm.
Chữa bí tiểu: Cành và rễ duối 20g, rửa sạch, mẹo chữa đau răng hiệu quả thái mỏng cho vào ấm đổ 500ml nước, sắc còn 250ml nước, chia uống 3 lần/ngày, 10 ngày 1 liệu trình. Hoặc vỏ rễ duối, rễ nhót mỗi vị 20g, sao vàng, đổ 750ml nước, sắc còn 300ml, cũng chia uống 3 lần/ngày trong 10 ngày.
Trường hợp kèm theo triệu chứng đái buốt, đái đục: Dùng vỏ rễ cây duối, rễ cây nhót rừng mỗi thứ 20g, (sao vàng), bạch mao căn 30g, râu ngô 30g, bông mã đề 30g, cỏ nhọ nồi 20g. Đổ 750ml nước, sắc còn 300ml, chia uống 3 lần/ngày trong 10 ngày. Chữa mụn nhọt sưng đau (chưa vỡ mủ) hoặc viêm nướu: Nhựa duối tẩm vào giấy bản rồi dán vào mụn khoảng 3 tiếng, ngày thay 2 lần.
Chưa thực sự có nhiều công trình nghiên cứu về tác dụng của loại cây này nhưng thực tế có thể thấy không chỉ là cách trị sưng nướu răng tại nhà chữa sâu răng ở trẻ em lá duối còn chữa được nhiều bệnh khác, chính vì vậy hiện nay các nhà khoa học đang nghiên cứu chiết xuất của loại thảo dược này làm thuốc trị viêm lợi ê răng tại nhà điển hình như thuốc đau răng sưng nướu phúc hoàng thọ đã được cấp phép lưu hành và được sử dụng rộng rãi giúp hàng nghìn người thoát khỏi bệnh sâu răng một cách dễ dàng.
